My introduction to the City of London’s traditions began with the Guildable Manor of Southwark, where I discovered the wider livery movement. In 2007, I received the Freedom of the City of London and joined the Guild of PR Practitioners – now the Worshipful Company of Communicators.
For over 15 years, I’ve been deeply involved, organizing events, securing speakers, and serving on the leadership team in roles including junior, middle, and senior warden. In October 2022, I was honoured to serve as Master of the Company, and I now continue as a Past Master, Founder Liveryman and member of the Court, working to grow it further.
My involvement in the Livery’s charitable activities has been immensely rewarding, from fundraising efforts like cycling at the Olympic Velodrome to creating the Future Freeman programme, which introduces new Communicators to the Livery world. I’ve also worked across the pan-livery to address issues of diversity and sustainability in the City.
I’m particularly proud of the Company’s support for the Armed Forces, promoting effective communication in times of global instability. Their role in upholding democracy and ensuring safety at home and abroad is invaluable, and our partnership reflects this vital mission.
