It was a real pleasure to talk about Social Mobility on Thursday 16 October 2025 at a panel in Parliament hosted by my good friend Vijay Luthra for Labour Business with some fascinating insights from Kevin Bonavia MP, Lee Davies and Felicity Halstead of the Good Work Foundation.
I raised the issues of geography in how low-income people access jobs, incentives to business to support social mobility, need for parity of esteem between academic and vocational qualifications, support for colleges, state schools to have great investment and links with business and the need to widen aspirations. Wonderful to be joined by Labour Business Chair Emily Wallace and colleague Joe Cooper among a big audience for a Thursday night roundtable.
